When you were a kid, did you ever shade a piece of paper in every color of crayon you had, then cover it in a layer of black so you could carve in cool designs that would appear in a multitude of colors? That's how I feel now, the top layer peeling away and colors showing through in the shape of a still-to-be-defined me.

I was a Moogle for Halloween this year; kupo! It was like when I was Faith from Mirror’s Edge a couple of years ago—those who got it really appreciated it and those who didn’t were left slightly confused.
We had an event for the kids at work before our usual happy hour. It was dark out by the time I was leaving, and I was standing in front of the shuttle talking to a friend of mine when a security guard came out and started telling me that I couldn’t be out there before he realized I wasn’t a kid. Hardcore betaing our new game and hoping to win an iPad2. It’s been a week, but feels like a month, which I suppose is where it would take to get to this point with casual play. Can’t wait for launch.

I’ve kind of been stuck in this rut. I know what I have to do to get out of it, and I’ve started. I’ll be in Austin for a week next week. Hoping that’ll help too.

The past couple weeks of work + working out + studying = exhaustion. And the next few weeks will be the same, but worth it in the end.

Thursday afternoon was spent jumping around and competing in trampoline dodgeball at House of Air, followed by a catered picnic at Crissy Field. Still in our rumply clothes, some of us went to Spruce for dinner and I learned that sweet breads is not bread that is sweet. I did find a wine I like though: 1986 Château Climens.

Heavy Rain is the second game I’ve fully completed—all paths, all endings, all trophies—earning me my first PSN platinum trophy last night. It would’ve happened sooner if I’d looked up this issue earlier, and if I’d followed a guide for the most optimal replaythrough to get all the endings. Though repeatedly going back through chapters was frusting at times, it was well worth it. Such an amazing game.
Also, I won an award at work today, yay! \o/

Miracle Berry flavor tripping. It didn’t last that long for me, but it was an interesting experience. Lemons and limes tasted like sweetened lemonade and limeade, grapefruits tasted nice, and strawberries tasted even sweeter.

We got an early start on Saturday and spent 6 hours exploring Valley of Fire before dinner and the show. My thighs are killing me now, but it’s so worth it. There was just the four of us—gorgeous scenery all around, no one else off-trail. It was so tranquil and natural, the opposite of my usual Vegas trips.

Just another weekend in Vegas: Friday night, checking into the Palazzo and dashing off to VIP boxes at Tao; Saturday hiking through Valley of Fire, followed by dinner at Tao Asian Bistro (the crab cakes and sea bass were amazing), and Le Rêve (4th row from a 360 water stage, a must-see); Sunday scoping out the newest addition, The Cosmopolitan, and general wandering around.
