When you were a kid, did you ever shade a piece of paper in every color of crayon you had, then cover it in a layer of black so you could carve in cool designs that would appear in a multitude of colors? That's how I feel now, the top layer peeling away and colors showing through in the shape of a still-to-be-defined me.
Over Labor Day weekend, I went to visit my brother, who just started graduate school at the University of Michigan. It was over 90 degrees that Saturday, followed by a thunderstorm that night that took out power in the entire neighborhood. It was nice though; I can’t remember the last time I watched out the window at a proper lightning storm.
The next 2 days were cooler in temperature, and we explored the arboretum and more of the campus. Seeing the excitement of hopeful freshmen their first week made me nostalgic for carefree college days. My favorite was the Law Quad and how their library was built underground.
